YOUTH RIDING CAMPS

 

JUNE 17th-21st (11am to 3pm)

Equestrian Introduction Camp: Basic horsemanship & animal husbandry, ground work, grooming, riding & much more! Group 1: for the beginner or intermediate riders age 4 - 12 Group 2: intermediate riders age 10-15.

 JULY 8th- 12th (11am to 3pm) 

Western Riders Camp: Western Pleasure, Performance, Equitation & Ranch Riding. Group 1: for the beginner or intermediate riders age 4 - 12 Group 2: intermediate riders age 10-15.

 JULY 29th - AUG 2nd (11am to 3pm)

Trial Blazers Camp: Trail Riding, Obstacle course riding, Pole Bending and Ranch Riding. Group 1: for the beginner or intermediate riders age 4 - 12.  Group 2: intermediate riders age 10-15.

 

All our camps are hands on, from start to finish with the horse and rider.  Each Day consists of 4 hours instructional time. Campers will learn basic Horsemanship, Animal Husbandry, Stable Management, Handling and Ground skills, Grooming, Saddling & Tacking up, Basic Riding skills & Proper Horse Care.

 Activities include:

 DAY 1: Stable Tour, horse introduction of breed and discipline, anatomy lesson, animal husbandry, stall management, grooming lesson, ground lesson and handling. Saddling and tack demonstrations with proper equipment fit.  Ride time to evaluate riding experience level and determine group placement.

 DAY 2: Horse leading, grooming, saddling & Tacking up, mounting, basic stretching/reigning/leg aid & voice command communication skills, riding at a walk. Walking over ground poles and some trotting could be introduced today.

 DAY 3: Groom, tack and ready the horse. Riding will consist briefly of the above and progress into more jogging and trotting, discussing the different gaits. More poles, bending poles and serpentines.

 DAY 4: Briefly all of the above, progressing into loping or cantering for the more advanced riders and working more on obstacles with other riders: bridges, poles, narrow passages, trotting on rail equitation and trot poles.

 DAY 5: MORE SADDLE TIME! Continuing Riding skills, Trail Ride around the property and Demonstrations. Ending the day with a Pizza party, photos, games & prizes!

Horse Leases for Experienced Riders

RANCH HORSE LEASE PACKAGES

(Western or English)

~3x's weekly Riding Academy is for lesson use at $350 monthly

~3x weekly lease includes 1 weekly lesson and 2 supervised days $375 p/m

~5x weekly lease includes 1 weekly lesson and 4 supervised days $500 p/m

~Full Lease: 7x weekly includes 2 weekly lessons and 5 supervised days at $650 p/m. 

*Leases require "supervised days" for all youth and/or for the first 6 months of the lease. 

**Full Lease: additional fees apply for farrier, worm, vet & med expenses and training & show fees, if applicable. 

Horses remain on HHR property at all times unless otherwise scheduled with group outings.  Riding academy lessons are 1/2 hour.
